Right-to-Know Internship

OMB Watch is seeking an intern to work on information and access issues. The candidate must be able to work independently and have the capability to work unsupervised. At the same time, the staff is relatively small and we are looking for a person with a "pitch in" attitude who is willing to assist the staff in many different capacities.

Internship responsibilities will include:
  1. Research -- Assist in gathering information on state RTK efforts including online resources, state contacts and organizations, and publications. Other research topics include the Toxic Release Inventory, Sensitive But Unclassified Information, and other federal issues.
  2. RTK Clearinghouse -- Aid in developing and gathering content for the new website.
  3. Access Database -- Add and confirm RTK contacts in the database.
  4. Website Updates -- Update info and access webpages.
Qualifications:
  1. Background/knowledge of environmental issues.
  2. Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
  3. Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office programs.
  4. Some familiarity with html a plus.
This position would be unpaid, although we could work with the student to obtain college credit. The position is available for Summer 2007 and extends through the year -- the end date is flexible. The student would gain experience in the nonprofit sector and specifically, experience with policy analysis, lobbying, and the legislative process.

Contact OMB Watch or send a resume and cover letter to: Right-to-Know Internship, OMB Watch, 1742 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20009, Fax: 202-234-8584 or click here to email your application.
