Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) will lift his hold on Cass Sunstein, according to Congress Daily (subscription): " 'I am not gonna keep him from confirmation and I intend to lift my hold,' Chambliss said on the Senate floor. The step may clear Sunstein for quick confirmation, though Senate aides have warned other holds are possible."

Chambliss announced his intentions one day after an in-person meeting with Sunstein to discuss the nominee's views on animal rights and the Second Amendment. As I blogged yesterday, intial press accounts warned that Chambliss may not lift the hold so quickly; but apparently Chambliss was sufficiently satisfied with the meeting.
