Craig Jennings: Director, Federal Fiscal Policy

Craig Jennings is the Director of the Federal Fiscal Policy program at OMB Watch. He is an expert in federal spending transparency and the federal budget process, and has provided insight into fiscal policy for such national media outlets as CNNMoney, CBS Evening News, ABC News, and PBS’s Nightly Business Report.

Since joining OMB Watch in 2006, Craig has studied and written about the federal budget, tax policy, and federal contracting. After the passage of the Recovery Act, Craig closely followed the implementation of the act’s transparency provisions and helped integrate recipient report data into FedSpending.org, OMB Watch’s federal spending database. He also advocates for a sound, equitable budget and greater public participation in the federal budget process.

Before his career in policy, Craig worked as an information technology consultant for KPMG Consulting and Sungard Consulting.

Craig graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He also has a Master of Public Policy from American University.

Craig is a marathon runner and enjoys training runs through Rock Creek Park and the National Zoo. In the fall, he closely follows Longhorn football. Craig also enjoys trips to the National Zoo with his wife to visit his adopted red panda, and his newest hobby is brewing beer.
