- The site in no way sets or retrieves cookies on client machines. The confusion lies in the browsers' inability to discern a cookie from additional query data that is being transmitted to our web server for the sole purpose of providing the client with information they have requested, by way of populated list and combo boxes, as well as predefined listings of Email addresses and Appropriation amounts from within Bill Text. Active Server Pages (ASP) scripts are used for items such as Legislative Bios and Email listings that run more efficiently when retrieved from a database format, which are accessed through the ASP scripts.
