Legislative Tracking and Monitoring Virginia's Lobbyist-In-A-Box is a for-fee, subscriber service in which users create topical profiles of legislation for tracking. These profiles are created with search criteria, including keyword, patron, committee, code section, title, etc. Based on the user's criteria, the application searches the Legislative Information System for related bills. The user then has the option to add those bills to the profile, for further tracking. Throughout session, the user is notified via email of changes to the bills' status, text, etc. Also, as new bills are introduced, the user is, again, notified via email of bills that relate to the selected search criteria, bills that the user may want to track throughout the session. In addition, Lobbyist-In-A-Box has a reporting function and has been enabled for a pda. More information on its funcitonality can be found online (http://www.vipnet.org/vipnet/liab/liabmanual.htm). |
