Peter Miller
| Peter Miller is a community technology activist currently consulting
as Public Policy Project Coordinator for the Community Technology Centers’
Network (CTCNet), overseeing CTCNet’s joint project with the Civil Rights
Forum sponsored by the Kellogg Foundation’s Managing Information with Rural
America (MIRA) program. He is former Network Director of CTCNet which unites
and supports community organizations that provide access to computers and
related technologies to people who are ordinarily disenfranchised.
Peter is a member of the Schools and Libraries Corporation’s Technology Planning Leadership Council, a planning partner with the National Strategy for Nonprofit Technology, on the boards of the Ohio Community Computing Center Network, the Technology Education Council of Somerville, MA, Computers In Our Future in CA, the Civil Rights Forum, and the OMB Watch Nonprofits’ Policy, and Technology project, and is a member of Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility, the Association for Community Networking, and the Alliance for Community Media. He helped found the annual New England Computers and Social Change Conference and the Boston Computer Society’s Nonprofit Assistance Program. Peter was previously the Executive Director of the Somerville (MA) Community Computing Center and Urban Planing Aid, Inc., the country’s first advocacy planning agency. |
