There are many ways to show support for the family and friends of the victims and for the emergency responders who are risking their lives. If you plan to give blood, independent blood centers are encouraging you should schedule an appointment because they have enough blood at this moment. There is also enough food donations. You can, however, offer to volunteer at your favorite nonprofit organization or donate money. If you donate, here are some ideas:

September 11 Fund created by NY Community Trust and United Way of New York City -- Providing emergency assistance to local agencies and nonprofits.
The Tides 9/11 Fund -- Supporting immediate relief efforts as well as immediate and long-term efforts to promote a just and peaceful response to this crisis.
